SUMMARY:Challenges of Aging and Dying Holocaust Survivor Parents
DESCRIPTION:I will be presenting a talk: Challenges of Aging and Dying Holocaust Survivor Parents for their Sons and Daughters. \n\n\n\nSee also: Fogelman\, E. (2008). Psychological dynamics in aging survivors of the Holocaust. Clio’s Psyche\, 15(3)\, 150-152. \n\n\n\nSelfhelp 90th Anniversary International Conference will be held October 19–21\, 2026 (Monday–Wednesday) at the UJA-Federation of New York\, 130 East 59th Street\, New York\, NY. \n\n\n\nA Legacy of Caring: Holocaust Survivor Services Now and In the Future\, this landmark gathering focuses on trauma-informed care\, caregiving\, and support networks for older adults with a history of trauma. \n\n\n\nJoin us as we celebrate Selfhelp’s 90th year of dedicated work with Holocaust survivors and older adults with a history of trauma. We will explore the enduring legacy of care and the future of support for Holocaust survivors and older adults who have experienced trauma in communities around the world. \n\n\n\nMore details can be found via Selfhelp Community Services. \n\n\n\nIn partnership with: UJA-Federation of New York\, Conference on Material Claims Against Germany (Claims Conference)\, Jewish Federations of North America\, Center on Aging\, Trauma and Holocaust Survivor Care. \n\n\n\nSelfhelp is indeed grateful for the generous support awarded to us by The Anita K. Hersh Philanthropic Fund\, administered by Anita’s dear friends Jeanne-Marie Champagne and Irene Kohn. These funds are providing much needed Emergency Financial Assistance and Caregiving Assistance to Holocaust survivors in need – honoring both Anita’s commitment and Selfhelp’s mission to serve as the “last surviving relative” for every survivor in need.
